Almost Hawaii

The weather in Adak this past week was particularly nice -- only one day of rain.

Sitting on the beach for sunrise (ahem, at 8:00) I could almost believe that I was in Hawaii. You know, if it weren't for wearing fleece lined pants, SmartWool socks and having bone-chiling wind freeze my ears. Oh yeah. Exactly like Hawaii.

This is the weight room I use at the Adak school. 3/4 of the school isn't used anymore (i.e., no heat or electricity) and the weight room is in the unused section. I don't think it's warmer than 40 degrees in there. I wear my thermal underwear to work out. My hands get so cold holding the barbell.

Of course you remember what happened on the flight back to Anchorage...
