Cluck Hut Casulties

Last weekend Crossfit Fairbanks hosted the second annual Fairbanks Fitness Derby at the Tanana Valley State Fair. I (wisely) chose not to compete but I did spectate. The derby was intense; each of the five events was a workout that we'd typically do at the gym on one day. These people were completing all five events in one afternoon!

It was a lot of fun watching everyone. Unfortunately for the chickens next door at the Cluck Hut, the day was not as grand. A dj had been hired to play music for the duration of the afternoon. Unbeknownst to anyone at the derby, chickens are sensitive to loud music.

There could be only one Crossfit Fitness Derby Champion and it was not to be a chicken. Three chickens had heart attacks that day, three chickens died.

The gray building is the Cluck Hut.

Let this be a warning to all the chicken owners out there -- don't play Iron Maiden in your chicken coop.
